Mark Prince Selected as 2019 Illinois Super Lawyer

Selections are made annually, on a state-by-state basis. The overall goal of this list is to create a credible, comprehensive, and diverse list of outstanding attorneys that can be used as a resource by lawyers and potential clients who are searching for legal counsel. The list is limited to lawyers who can be hired and retained to the public, so it can be used to help people find and choose their legal representative.

The Super Lawyers selection process has four distinct steps:

• Step 1: Nominations. There are four ways an attorney can be nominated for this honor. They can enter the candidate pool if they’ve managed a partner survey, be nominated by peers, receive third-party feedback, or be identified by the Super Lawyers research team. It’s important to note that lawyers cannot nominate themselves.
• Step 2: Independent Research. When the independent research is conducted, 12 indicators of professional achievement and personal recognition are looked at. Those indicators include verdicts/settlements, transactions, representative clients, experience, honors/awards, special licenses/certifications, position within law firm, bar and/or professional activity, pro bono and community service, scholarly lectures/writing, education/employment background, and other achievements.
• Step 3: Peer Evaluation. The candidates with the highest scores from the first two steps serve on the Blue Ribbon Panel. This panel evaluates other candidates within their primary practice area in order to select the best of the best.
• Step 4: Final Selection. When the final selections are made, there are two categories: Rising Stars and Super Lawyers. Rising Stars are those who are under the age of 40 and have been in practice for less than 10 years. Only five percent of attorneys are selected to Super Lawyers.
